                          CartList v3.0 by SunTzu7
                  The Authoritative ROM Cataloging Utility
                  ----------------------------------------

What's new in version 3.0 :

	* Now has support for Nintendo 64 ROM images
	* Recursive directory searching
	* Intelligent checksum generation
		o Unique identification of your ROM images.
		o Ignores headers and game info in the ROM images
		o Only the ROM code is examined.
		o Converts between MGD/SWC/FIG formats (SNES) *and* MGD/SMD/BIN/MD
	  	  formats (SGEN) on-the-fly to generate the same checksum no
	  	  matter *what* format your ROM image is!
		o Database of over 2000 games for Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Coleco,
	  	  Lynx, Game Gear, Sega Master System, NES, and PC-Engine.
	  	  Automatically shows the game names for these ROMs.
	  	o Database of over 4500 SNES/SGEN/GB/N64 game names/checksums.
	  	  If you've run across a game whose name has been changed, now you'll
	  	  be able to correctly identify it.
	* Multiple search pattern specification (eg *.1 *.usa *.smc *.gb)
	* Allows specification of patterns to exclude from search (eg *.2 *.diz *.txt)
	* Displays summary statistics of all game types found.
	* More company codes added
        o Most comprehensive list of company codes of any util
	* Better detection of SNES/SGEN/GB images
	* More accurate calculation of ROM sizes for split-ROM images
	* Use of an environment variable to specify options used all the time

	* Three new utilities:
		o CartSort
			* Sorts the listings generated by CartList by game type/game name
			* Joins two sorted listings together into one

		o CartDB
			* Creates a database file of checksums and game names for making
			  your own database of ROM information.
			* Joins two database files together into one.
			* Dumps the contents of a database file.
			* Shows the duplicates found in your CartList listings

		o CartComp
			* Compares two cartlist output listings and shows which files
			  are unique to each list. No more sorting through your friends'
			  ROM lists to see what you don't have! Uses checksums in
			  list comparison so there is little to no chance of error!
			* Also compares your list to a database file to see what files
			  are in the database but not on your list.

If you find any bugs or have any suggestions for improvement, contact me
on EFNet IRC (SunTzu7). I'm usually idling in #emu or #emuroms.
Or you can e-mail me at "sven@sven.publicnet.com" Criticisms of the
constructive or intelligent varieties are also welcome.

These programs are freely distributable under the condition that they and
the archive in which they came should be unmodified. Also, in the unlikely
event that you'll be putting this on a commercial CD (as opposed to
a pirate CD), you must obtain my permission first.
