Welcome to the Pokemon Readme file. Just so you guys don't bitch too much
about the patch and what not, I made this file for yas. Anyhoo, here is
some pretend Q & A with questions no one actually asked me, but I am sure
they are worthwile.

Q. How the hell do I play this damn game?
Basically you are supposed to go and get the 8 badges and become the best
pokemon trainer. In order to do so you have to collect a whole bunch of
wild pokemon and train them and make them kickass. Once you do so you go
and beat up the leader of the gym or something like that. It isn't that
hard really, but since you can't read most of it, I am sure you won't get
too far.

Q. How the hell do I capture Pokemon?
I am glad you asked that question. You need to go to the store, and buy an
item called a monster ball. I guess in this translation it will end up
being called ball or something like that, I am not sure if we have put the
items in yet. Anyway, it costs 200 yen, and i think it is the only thing
that costs that much. Buy a whole bunch of them and whenever you beat up a
wild monster, use one on it when it is almost dead. This should catch it
for you and you can use it however you desire. If you catch more than 6
they get added to the computer in the poke center. If you use a ball on a
person's pokemon, the other person will get rid of it...so don't waste them
etc...

Q. Will this game give me seizures?
No...since this is the english version the series of kana that caused many
japanese kids to have seizures has been removed. If you experience
dizzyness or temporary blindness, stop playing the game for 15 minutes. If
blindness continues, find a website on the internet about curing temporary
blindness and read it thoroughly.

Q. Why the hell did you write that crap above?
Well...the television show in Japan caused a bunch of kids to have seizures
due to a series of flashing lights. It was pretty funny and it made me
laugh, and since I am a geek I have a right to make lame jokes about it. If
you think you are above laughing at my lame jokes then you are certainly
more of a geek than I am. Add 10 points if you thought to yourself "How can
you read a webpage if you are blind and don't have the automatic reading
software installed."

Q. Why do I see these weird characters that don't make any sense?
Those are screens we have not translated yet. Translation for me takes
about 3 steps. First I have to find whatever text I need to translate, and
I write it down. Then I Translate it and send it to shadow. If I miss
something along the way, then I have to restart the game and search for it
again. It is a time consuming process and I try to do things right the
first time, but I am a busy student and what not. Shadow's part is slightly
more complicated involving a series of rewriting my translations and
converting them into hex strings then re-writing the windo format to make
it all look pretty.

Q. Who should I mail if I have questions/comments about this translation?
I would reccomend mailing me, mainly because I will get back to you faster
than Shadow. Shadow is off doing other things like translation, running his
website, and ordering his lackies around. He doesn't have time to answer
e-mail about this game. If anything is really important I will forward it
to him. Also, I like hearing from the people who play this game. I want to
know your impressions and what not. Hopefully your kind comments will make
me think I am doing a good job and will make me figure I am doing this for
people who actually enjoy playing games and not people who bitch all the
time because things don't work the way they are always planned.

Q. Is there anyone who should be thanked for all of this mess?
First off I want to thank Pikachu for getting me into all of this. He was
the initial inspiration for the translation and he got us off to a good
start. Unfortunately, he died about 2 weeks ago and we are finishing this
translation in his honor. We miss you little buddy! I want to thank Shadow
for making me his do boy and putting all that silly Japanese back into good
ol' English. Also, thanks goes out to my only fan, DayEight. Without him, I
probably never would have even known someone enjoyed this game. Much
appreciation to my teachers who have taught me over theyears, and some
special lovin to the girl who never called me back. That girl was every
video game lover's dream, and I screwed things up. Oh well...I never even
had a chance anyway.

Q. Why do you write so damn much.
I don't have a life. But then again, if you have read this much, neither do
you. Go out and take a Japanese class...then tell some Japanese girls you
need tutoring. Good things will happen, I promise.

Well...that is all...if you have any questions that you think might spice
up this readme, drop me a line.

I also have ICQ, probably the best invention on earth. I have a mac though,
so it is a pretty simple version. My number is 6217003 if you have any
questions/comments. Also, my computer rocks you. It may be a mac, but it
fueled the innovation for whatever piece of shit you may be using now.
Power PC and Rhapsody are going to kick ass...just you wait.
