***Changes since last patch (?/??/????)***

Cid is now a fully playable character! ^_^

Name of project changed to FF3NPC (Non-Playable Characters)

Updated patch description (forgot one in last release ^_^)

***What to use this patch on***
A copy of the Final Fantasy 3 Super Nintendo Rom Image.
DO NOT E-mail me asking for a copy, it will be ignored.

***What the patch does***
Primarily, it swaps characters around. The first group of characters are Locke the Thief and Clyde, Shadow's "Alter Ego". The second group is Strago the Blue Mage and Professor Cid. This change is entirely graphical. No commands were altered, except for the dialogue that had Clyde's or Cid's name in it, it was switched to Locke or Strago. Clyde & Cid will speak and be controlled just like Locke & Strago.

And before anyone asks me, Clyde & Cid are NOT hidden characters, all of the animations were drawn by me, except for the walking animations (which were already in the game).

Also, I decided to fix a few "bugs" that the translators left in the game, as well as some things that annoy the hell out of me each time I play. These are:

* All words in full caps (Dialogue Names, Map Names, etc.) have been converted to lower case. This includes the default names for all the characters.

* I corrected the "Zigfried" misspelling on the phantom train.

* The word "Strength" on the Ifrit and Bismark Espers was changed to "Vigor" (to correspond with the status screen).

* Vicks, the imperial soldier at the beginning of the game, had his name changed to Biggs. (this was also done in the last release, but I forgot to mention it in the readme. Sorry everybody ^_^)

Finally, given the fact that I'm no artist ^_^, I decided to replace the Amano portraits on the status screen with the character's world map graphics (which I didn't really want to do, since I do like Yoshitaka Amano's artwork). However, if anyone would like to contribute his or her own Amano-style portrait for Clyde, feel free to submit it. The only limitations for it are:

	1. The portraits are 40x40 pixels in size
	2. There are only 15 colors available to use
(well, there are 16, but one is for transparency).

If you find any dialogue that I missed that is still in all caps, or anything else you feel needs to be fixed with the dialogue, feel free to E-Mail me (just remember that some all caps is used for YELLING ^_^)

***So how do I use your patch?***
As mentioned before, make sure you have a copy of the FF3 rom ready.

You will also need one of the following programs in order to use the ips patch on the rom:
	1. Ips.exe
	2. Snestool

You can find both of these on Zophar's Domain (http://www.zophar.net)
Snestool in the Snes Utilities section.
Ips.exe in the General Utilities section.

To use ips.exe, place the rom and ips patch in the same folder as ips.exe
then from a dos prompt (or pure dos), type ips <rom name> <ips patch name>

EX: ips FF3us.smc ff3NPC.ips

To use Snestool, place the rom and ips patch in the same folder as Snestool.
run Snestool, choose the "Use Ips" option, and follow the instructions from there.

***Future Projects?***

Well, I haven't decided yet. I had actually intended to show off Clyde in a remix I was doing of ALL the main characters in FF3, but I ran into some problems with the overworld palettes. If I do figure this out, then you'll definitely see another FF3 hack ^_^.

For now, I'm just gonna see how many characters I can make semi-playable. I admit that I'm not the best artist in the world, but I do enjoy the challenge of taking characters, like Cid & Clyde who could only walk, and giving them new animations. Who will I attempt next? Who knows? Keep an eye out ^_-

***BIG thanks to***

Snowbro, for creating Tile Layer and Hexposure.
Used T-layer for the graphic hacking.
Used Hexposure for the palette hacking.

Necrosaro, for creating Thingy.
Used this for all the dialogue changes.

CzarDragon, for helping me figure out the palettes and other stuff in FF3.

and finally, everyone on Zophar's Romhacking Board for all the good advice they gave me.

ENJOY THE GAME! ^_^
