1. What's New?

0.90 (2-7-98)

- Initial Release...
- Should be 100% complete
- If you go looking for the rom... it's in a vertigo (or GITM) pack by the name
of GETSUFUU.NES... DO NOT EMAIL ME FOR THE ROM... or I will send you
to blackest hell... "Blackest Hell, YES!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. How to Start

First, patch the *ORIGIONAL* ROM w/ either of the following commands:

Using IPS:

ips geppu.nes geppu.ips

Using Ucon:

ucon i geppu.nes geppu.ips

Now, load up LOTDMW in your favorite emu (the ones compatible w\ LOTDMW are
listed later on.. See Section 4) and you should see the title screen within
milliseconds. You're ready to start.

------------------------------------
2a. Controller functions:

D-Pad: Move hero in all 4 directions (overworld)
Move hero left and right (levels)

A Button: Jump
B Button: Swing katana
Start : Status (overworld)
          Pause (levels)
Select : Use items when paused in levels

------------------------------------
2b. The Menu Screen

The menu screen is simple and shows basic items and
fields such as gold and life remaining.

------------------------------------
2c. Advanced Battle Tactics

Because the control in LOTDMW is LOOSE, you can jump in a fall...
so if you're falling off the edge, you can jump in mid-air..

Take time to visit the shops and upgrade your sword, you'll
need more power in the later levels

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. The Story of Geppumaden (Legend of the Devil Moon Wind)

In the first years of the Demon Age, the DragonMaster
was revived by his minions in hell. To protect
the peace of the overworld, the two eldest Fuuma
brothers fought the DragonMaster. They were both
unable to defeat him and were killed, losing their
legendary Hadoukens. To avenge this, the last of
the Fuuma brothers vowed to slay the DragonMaster,
and take back the Hadoukens.

(Hadouken="Wave Sword")

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Which Emu's/Copiers does LOTDMW work on?

Compatibility list for emulators as of Jan 29, 1998:
-----------------------------------------------------
A) Nesticle .43- Great... mapper #23 is fully supported... use this!

B) iNES .7- Umm... NO... it supports the mapper fine.. but
in terms of speed, color, sound... why bother??

C) Nofrendo.0?- No, playable, but the graphics are extremely garbled.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Problems w/ Translation:

- I've had to 'work' the script to make it fit.. but it's still relatively good.
- In the script I refer to the Wave Sword's as 'Hadoukens' but in the
status bar I refer to it as 'WaveSword' This is so I can use the
'Sword' tiles again in the status...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

6. Special Thanks to Those who Made This Possible:

-CrazyBred: for doing the translation!
-[J3d!]: for the dumping info
