[Introduction]
This software is made for the emulation of "Family Computer", the nostalgic
 8-bit console.
(note: "Family Computer(Famicom)" was later called "NES" outside Japan,
 with slightly different hardware)

[Warnings]
* To use this software you need to transfer ROM data of program/character
 from your own cartridges to your PC.
* Since ROM data in cartridges are protected by copyright law, it's illegal
 that you use data transferred from cartridges not in your possesion.
* Be aware in advance that we the Famtasia authors can't answer questions
 about ROM data.
* Questions about devices to transfer cart data are rejected too.
  Make a device by your own investigation.

[Minimum System Requirements]
* It's OK if you can use Windows95/98/NT (can't run on Windows3.1)

[Recommended System]
* 16MB RAM
* Soundboard
* Display adaptor which supports DirectDraw
* Joystick
* Pentium processor (120Mhz or higher)
 (Execution speed depends on each piece of environment such as video card

[Supported file formats]
* NES (See fam_map.txt for supported mappers)
* FAM
* FDS (fwNES)
	You need BIOS of Famicom DyskSystem(disksys.rom).
	+notice+
	! You must dump the content of a RAM adaptor of DyskSystem at
	$E000-$FFFF and make a BIOS image file by yourself.
	! By default the location of files is the same as the .exe file.
	You can change it later by configuration of saving.

[Installation]
1) Extract Famtasia.exe into any folder you like
2) Execute Famtasia.exe

[Quick start]
* Make NES-format file
1) Save the program & character data dumped from a real cart as binary
 files with *.prg/*.chr extension.
2) Select [File]-[New]-[Create NES] and you see "Create Nes File" dialog,
 drag & drop the dumped file onto the window (Automatically the file is named)
3) After setting mapper number/mirroring etc. click [Create] to create
 NES-format file and emulation of the program will start.

* Start game
To start emulation, select [File]-[Open] to open NES/FAM file or drag and drop them.

* Key control (keyboard)

  Default settings

  [F1]		: start
  [F2]		: select
  [UP ARROW]	: controller 1 up
  [DOWN ARROW]	: controller 1 down
  [LEFT ARROW]	: controller 1 left
  [RIGHT ARROW]	: controller 1 right
  [X]		: controller 1 A button
  [Z]		: controller 1 B button
  [Num8]	: controller 2 up
  [Num2]	: controller 2 down
  [Num4]	: controller 2 left
  [Num6]	: controller 2 right
  [Num0]	: controller 2 A button
  [Num1]	: controller 2 B button

* Full-screen mode
Select [Config]-[Display]-[Toggle Fullscreen] or press [Alt]+[Enter] key

* Save in real-time
 + Select [File]-[Save] or press shortcut key ([S] by default)
 + You can load back save data by selecting [File]-[Load] or press shortcut key
  ([U] by default)

	+notice+
	Famtasia Ver. 5 has no lower compatibility to FAM format file for
	previous versions (Ver. 1/2/3/4). If you like to use the file
	in previous versions, you must back-up it or make a copy in other name.

[Requests]
* Anyone who has intention to localize Famtasia itself, documents, manuals,
  please read the notice on the following URL carefully and translate them.
  By its original design Famtasia can support all languages supported
  by Windows.

  ! It is planned that by registering your mail address on download you
    can get notice of the release of the latest resource file.
* If you find any bugs or glitches when using Famtasia please report us.
* If you have any reviews or needs please submit them to us. We hope the next
  version supports as many of them.
* These days there come up various issues about not only emulation scene but
  all Internet. It depends on people who use Famtasia whether Famtasia can
  continue its development in future or not. If the situation doesn't allow
 it, the development has to be discontinued.
* Sometimes authors can't reply at once for their own convenience.
  Wait awhile or re-send your email etc.

[Disclaimer]
* We are not responsible for any damages caused by the use of this software.
* You must get ROM images by the right way not to let this software assist
 illegal action.
* This software is a freeware.
Basically re-distribution is free but the following conditions must be followed.
 1) Don't modify the archive file including .exe file etc.
 2) Notice the authors about your re-distribution as possible.
(But in such cases as on magazine or for commercial re-distribution they MUST
 be noticed to the authors)
 3) Don't pay for this program more than the cost of physical media for its re-distribution.
